Our History

Today, Dunbracken Ladies Golf Club is a small but active club that plays over all of the course at Gleneagles.

Our golf club was the result of a get together over lunch in the Windsor restaurant in Perth on December 11th 1957. Five ladies decided that they wanted to form a golf club that would offer a social and competitive golf calendar over the courses at Gleneagles. These objectives are the same today.

The club has seen many changes. We take great pride in being able to play on arguably the best inland courses in Scotland and have witnessed great events take place on them.

The MacDonalds WPGA Championship was played over the Kings course for several years and really helped to raise the profile of women’s golf. Since then, we have hosted the Ryder Cup and the Solheim Cup and many of our members were thrilled to be an integral part of these events by volunteering to marshal.

In our history we have had many successful golfers who have excelled out with the club. County Champions, Curtis Cup players and more recently our team won the Scottish Kyocera Matchplay competition.
