Dunbracken Ladies host a series of competitions and just for fun days throughout the seson. The format and history of each of these trophies is detailed below:
Muirhead Trophy
Following a vote at the 2023 AGM the Club Championship format was changed. As of the 2024 season players will now qualify for the top 4 positions through medal competitions on the Kings and Queens courses from 1st May – 31st July. One score on the Kings (green tees) and one on the Queens will count towards each player’s score. The top 4 players will then qualify to the knockouts.
Bronze Challenge Trophy

Thomson Quaich
Handicap knockout competition held in the summer months over the Queen’s Course. All players of Dunbracken are eligible to enter. Maximum handicap is 36.
Marshall Dunbar Trophy
A stroke play competition played over the Queen’s Course, all Medal Winners are eligible to play and the Trophy is awarded to the player with the best nett score.
Crow Trophy
A solid silver cup presented for the Most Improved Player. Improvement must come within Dunbracken Competitions or played on Gleneagles courses.
Thomson Trophy
Aggregate of the 2 best scratch scores returned in the Spring, Summer and Autumn meetings.
Anderson Salver
Aggregate of 2 best handicap scores returned in the Spring, Summer and Autumn meetings.
Pat Rutherford Salver
This silver salver to be awarded to the player with the best nett score achieved in competitions between 1st April and 30th September played over the King’s and Queen’s courses.
Birdie Tree
A Trophy awarded to the members in both Silver and Bronze divisions making the most Birdies on any course (1st April – 30th September) during club competitions.
Tullis Trophies
Originally a Handicap foursomes knockout competition held in the summer months over the Queen’s Course. Since 2013 the trophies have been awarded to the winners of the Coronation Foursomes.
Provan Trophy
This was originally awarded for a Bogie Competition held over the King’s Course on a preordained day. This is now awarded for a Par Competition.
Cancer Relief Trophy
Following a change to our Charity contributions (2024) the Cancer Relief Trophy is played on our Charity Cancer day, an allocated Saturday in July.
The Mollie Ferrier Quaich
The solid silver Quaich is presented to the winner of the 5 Club Competition. In 2018 this competition was changed to a stableford.
The Grannies Cup
Only Grannies within the Club can win the Trophy although everyone is free to enter the competition.
Past Captains Trophy
A framed plate portraying Gleneagles Hotel presented to the winner of the Past Captains Day.
Eagle Trophy
A Summer Eclectic Competition held over a maximum of 10 rounds on the King’s Course from 1st April to 30th September. The winner is calculated with the best score over 18 holes after the deduction of the player’s handicap as at 30th September.
Summer Queens Eclectic
An Eclectic Competition held over 6 rounds on the Queen’s Course from 1st April to 30th September.
Rosebowl Trophy
A Summer Eclectic Competition held over a maximum of 10 rounds on the PGA Centenary Course from 1st April to 30th September. The winner is calculated with the best score over 18 holes after the deduction of the player’s handicap as at 30th September.
Winter Eclectic
This to be played for over the King’s Course.
Moutie Anderson Quaich
Best handicap ringer score over 9 rounds (2 holes per round changed) played over the Queen’s Course from 1st October to 31st March each year. (Changed from 18 rounds in 2000).
Festive Ferrier Christmas Cake
Played on the same day as the Medal Play Off and awarded to the top player who had not qualified.
Captains Badge
Worn by the Captain during her year of office when participating in Club events.
Vice-Captains Badge
A silver badge worn by the Vice-Captain during her year of office when participating in Club events.
